Population Services International (PSI) is a global non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of people in the developing world by focusing on serious challenges like a lack of family planning, HIV and AIDS, barriers to maternal health, and the greatest threats to children under five, including malaria, diarrhea, pneumonia and malnutrition. With over 50 network members across the developing world, PSI helps strengthen health systems in the private and public sector using proven business practices such as marketing and franchising. Because of these methods, PSI has an uncompromising focus on measurable health impact; it measures its effect on disease and death much like a for-profit measures its profits. In 2015, PSI added an estimated 44.9 years of healthy life with its products and services. PSI is a recommended charity of the Life You Can Save, endorsed by noted philanthropist Peter Singer.
